The Aarambh Edge

At Aarambh PreSchool, our philosophy has evolved from the belief that the core purpose of the human race is to stay happy. With this in mind, we have designed our pedagogy and teaching-learning methods to ensure that each child is excited about coming to school every day. We feel truly successful when parents come to us and say, “What do you guys do at school? She wants to go to school even on weekends!”

Our campus plays a significant role in creating a joyful environment. Nestled in the lap of nature, it provides the “luxury of space” for children to be themselves and explore the world around them. Surrounded by greenery and fresh air, our campus enhances this happiness factor.

We are proud of our highly motivated team that goes above and beyond to care for children. They leave no stone unturned to ensure that learning remains fun and relevant. Our teachers create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

We also deeply value the involvement of our parents in their child’s learning journey. Whether it’s attending parent-teacher meetings, participating in open houses, or supporting us during events and celebrations, our parent community is an integral part of our preschool.

At Aarambh PreSchool, we believe that our genuine success lies in the happiness of each child, and we strive to create a joyful and enriching experience for every student.

PEDAGOGY

The Senses, being explorers of the world. open the way to knowledge. Our apparatus for educating the senses offers the child a key to guide his explorations of the world.

Children learn the most not from their books, not from the blackboard and definitely not with one teacher standing in front of 50 children and preaching! Children learn the most when they explore, observe, hear, touch and talk!

At Aarambh, our pedagogy takes inspiration from elements of various philosophies – Montessori, Krishnamurti, Gardner, Waldorf and many more. We’ve blended them together and contextualised them to create a unique blend that’s best suited for the children of our city.

The result is a classroom where children have autonomy, and are given space to think and explore and question and build their own knowledge rather than be spoon-fed!

Our integrated approach to learning is a synthesis of years of experience of our team to develop a method where subjects don’t exist in isolation – because that’s how it is in a child’s head!

Imagine this:
You enter one of our classrooms and children are engaged in an activity of creating an art installation for their class for the ongoing theme: Autumn Season

For this activity, children first went into the garden and collected as many fallen leaves as possible (Physical Development). Then they sorted the leaves into piles of “Big Leaves” and “Small Leaves”. Then they further sorted leaves into piles of “Green Leaves” and “Yellow Leaves” (Shape and size sorting). Next, they counted each type of leaf (Counting). The teacher asks them the names of trees from which these leaves came (Environment). Then they start making their art installation (Aesthetic Development) which they name “The Leaf Man” and one child is already knitting a story whose main character is “The Leaf Man” (Language Development)

And in this process, children learn to communicate, negotiate, ideate, collaborate and learn important social-emotional skills!

When we free our children of unnecessary structures, it’s amazing how much they can surprise us!

CAMPUS

Imagine entering the school under the shade of two huge Gulmohar trees with the sounds of birds chirping and an odd butterfly or dragonfly welcoming you!

As you proceed further, you see two green play areas – one for structured play, and one for free play.

Following the sound of children’s joyful shrieking, you enter our classroom area and you’re greeted with large open windows overlooking a man-made forest. This not only ensures fresh air and natural light adorn our classrooms but also reduces the need for artificial sources of light and air-conditioning! (All our classes are air-conditioned because Raipur weather can be unforgiving at times! 😞)

We like to refer to this as the “Luxury of Space” and we feel that it’s the biggest gift we can provide to our children. The same theme continues in the layout of our classrooms where children have enough space to sit down on the floor to do group activities or sit on their tables and chairs to do more structured learning.

Each element of our campus is curated in a way to pique children’s curiosity and sense of wonder and it is forever evolving as we learn more and more about how children interact with different elements!

“Alone we can do so little. Together, we can do so much” ~ Helen Keller ~

Visit our staffroom after the children have left or on a Saturday and you’ll feel like you’ve entered a storm – one we like to call “Brain Storm”! Our team of extremely motivated and creative teachers is what sets us apart. Our team is dedicated towards children and makes sure that each minute a child spends in school is productive and joyful.

We conduct a very rigorous annual training program for all our teachers called “Learning Curve” along with regular ongoing in-house training. We also encourage all our team members to seek out opportunities and travel to learn the best practices of other schools too!

With a combined team experience of over 50 years, our team is a great mix of energy and knowledge under one roof!
